Each year the Year 8 students continue the Big Brother, Little Brother/ Big Sister, Little Sister tradition. We think it is a good opportunity for the Year 1 students to learn from another perspective.
The Year 8′s have a big role in caring for the new Year 1 students. Every Friday the Year 8 students visit their little brothers and sisters and read to them, teach them how to play games like Snakes and Ladders, sit with them at Mass and have a shared pizza lunch with them.
“We encourage them to be the best they can in school. We help with anything we can. Also it is a responsibility because we have to look out for the little ones and when they are hurt they know they have someone to go to for help. Whatever we do, we always try to include them. We will miss them when we go to high school but we can always come back and visit them.”
